Reclamation is set in a shared dream world. A world of Nightmares and Chaos, of great Houses and Dreamers. The dreamers are inhabitants of Cloudsbreak who, through meditation and study, have awakened in this dream world.
What is the point of it all, you may ask. This is an MMORPG, a persistent world, the point is for it to be a living breathing environment where the players have control over the everyday and the spectacular events. And we put these possibilities in your hands. From Teaching to Politics, to Warriors and Rulers.
Rule your very own house by sweet talking, or coniving your way to the top. The House system of Reclamation will be one of the major features. 8 powerful guilds with many systems designed specifically for them, such as the Mission Boards, storage areas, a rank system, and much more. The possibilities within the walls of a House are endless. You may need to be a strong diplomat, or a mighty warrior, but chances are you can help a House and benefit from it by being anything in between. Pleasing others not your style, think you can do a better job than some Ruler. Get some like minded individuals together and go to war, who knows, you may just win.
From large scale wars to random skirmishes, all of these can be the effects of every day roleplaying in Reclamation. Houses can't always get along, and with beliefs that are inherently different, and real human personalities leading them, peace is just a time to restock, and war is just a means to an end. Player vs. Player combat will be open at all times in most areas of the game world. This makes for some quick and dirty action to supplement the intense roleplays that lead up to it.
Wars will be fought and won, treaties signed, and the territory lines drawn. Not just a catchy line, every part of that sentence is true. War will have real consequences for all parties, win or lose; but the winner can be assured he has won. When the dust settles a treaty will need to be signed and agreed upon, and territory divided up. Reclaim your lost lands, claim lands that you want.
Maybe war and combat isn't your style. No need to worry, because those are just some roads that may be travelled. Player interaction is what is important here, not war and might. Reclamation's advancement system is entirely player based. You will gain arts from your fellow players upon completing Quests they have drawn up for you, tailored to you. So that it is very possible, maybe even beneficial, to advance without ever using a weapon.
Become a teacher. Teachers will be at the heart of the advancement system, writing dynamic quests for fellow players and deeming them worthy of advancement in their arts. This system is very important, as it fosters the roleplaying environment and player interaction.
Help your fellow players get started in the game. We offer a variety of mechanics that will help you find and aid new players. Teachers will have the ability to sense when a new player has entered the game, and others can use Newly Awakened, an art that will tell you where new players are. Gain experience for initiating new members into your house, and receive a considerable experience bonus through a Gratitude Token if a Newly feels you helped them.
There is much more to Reclamation than is outlined here, and to find out more, keep watch on our website and stay involved in the community at Stratics!
The term “MMORPG” stands for “Massive Multiplayer Online Role-playing Game”. It applies to games which are capable of handling extremely large numbers of players simultaneously, and which encourage role-playing among their populations.
Role-playing describes the act of not only creating a character for some kind of game, but actually acting out that character while playing. This is the ultimate in character customization. Thoughts, feelings, and emotions can be played out through slight changes in facial movement or body posturing. You are able to convey tiny details about the character you’ve made, making him or her recognizable to others. This is how characters become individual.
Role-playing is surprisingly easy to do, and can be incredibly enjoyable. All you need is an idea of what your character should be, from simple farmer, to a soldier in a noble’s army, to a minor noble yourself. Develop your character to the point where you know him/her through and through. You should act out the character in every way possible, even down to the tiniest quirks of behavior. The better you know your character, the more fun you will have with him/her. There are several existing role-playing guides available with tips how how to get started, how to advance, and how to continue to grow.
The eagerly anticipated MMORPG from Lyra Studios is a new game in and of itself. With feedback from Underlight as well as others out there, we believe the new game will be pleasantly familiar, and still excitingly different than the last.
Our goal is to create, promote and foster a dynamic role-playing environment, where characters are someone and where their actions truly matter. We are aiming to create small tight knit communities, where role-playing is enforced and where players are given frequent and meaningful role-playing opportunities not found in other games. This will be held together by a far greater level of customer service and support of the players' gameplay experience than is offered anywhere else. Each community server will have its own unique player-driven storyline supported by an experienced GM staff enriching the role-playing environment through daily development of characters, running regular events, creating innumerable small and one time role-plays and quests, and by focusing on integrating player role-plays into all GM driven storylines and events.
Reclamation is very different from other games. The concept of the Dream-world over the typical fantasy world gives this game a whole new set of possibilities. The Dreamstate is a universe of raw consciousness shared among dreaming beings, a shared dream that is more real than the dreams of any normal person. Here prowess of the mind is given precedence over prowess of the body. Skills and levels are gained through interactive quests given by other players, not NPCs. The natural monsters come in many forms and many degrees of intelligence; some even controlled by other players.
Perhaps most importantly, Reclamation not only encourages role-playing, it was built from the ground up to support and foster it. The character you create will become real in a world surrounded by others who truly exist within the City of Dreams.
In so many MMORPGs out there, the grind to get to the top becomes tedious. Players start over for the simple amusement of something new they can no longer experience with their current character. What we offer is a changing, evolving world. Through player-run and gm-guided events, the game will never be stale for long. Your own character will have the ability to help make a difference in the direction of the epic story that will be told.
If you are able to role-play a character, there is likely a place for you. There are places for leaders, followers, story-tellers, warriors, teachers, hunters, mystics, explorers, and so much more. You need only the imagination to make it happen.

Currently we are anticipating community servers with about 2500 subscribers per server, leaving around 600 players in game at any give time. This number is approximate, and may change after or during beta testing. Our goal is to provide community servers small enough for tight knit roleplaying while still having enough players to create exciting new situations.
We look forward to working more closely with the community and will announce the open beta when the time is right. To ensure you get into the open beta signup for the Reclamation

While Underlight and Reclamation both occur in the "City of Dreams", Reclamation does stand alone and apart from its predecessor. Reclamation is its own game with its own new features, although its true that it is based on the original theme developed for Underlight.
No. Underlight and Reclamation will be two different games, occuring at two different time periods. Entirely different characters will need to be created for playing Reclamation. UL players who show loyalty to the Reclamation community and genuine effort throughout the Reclamation beta will be given first choice at acquiring character names for live release.
