Reclamation is set in a shared dream world; a world of nightmares and chaos, of great houses and dreamers. The dreamers are inhabitants of Cloudsbreak who, through meditation and study, have awakened in this dream world.
Reclamation offers a persistent world and a rich roleplaying environment -- a living, breathing City of Dreams where the players control both mundane and spectacular events. The dream world is rife with political intrigue, striving for power, academic speculation, and enchanting mysteries. There are epic wars to be waged, mysteries to be solved and adventures to be experienced.
Each of the eight great houses of the dream is controlled by a powerful guild. Any dreamer may aspire to become the ruler of a guild, either through service or by political scheming. The possibilities within the walls of a house are endless. Plan campaigns against rivals, expand the house's Sphere of Influence, make and break alliances. The houses will need strong warriors and skilled diplomats, but even the newest dreamers can contribute their growing skills to help strengthen their chosen houses. Those who reside in one of the eight great houses have access to storage vaults, chances to earn prestigious ranks, and opportunities to gain rewards by performing services through the House Mission Boards.
But possession of a house and its rewards is never assured. Think you can do better than the existing rulers? Scheme and politic to be promoted. Or gather a like-minded group and form your own guild to take over a house.
From full-scale wars to minor skirmishes, role-playing in Reclamation can often lead to combat. With conflicting beliefs and human personalities directing them, the great houses often regard peace merely as a time to restock their armories. Player vs player combat is possible at all times and in most areas of the dream world, and danger is never far away. Members of enemy houses may ambush one another while hunting or exploring.
Wars in Reclamation will have real consequences. The winners may take over the house of their defeated enemies. The losers may hold their house, but be forced to give up portions of their territory to the victors. When the dust settles, the two sides will meet and draw up a treaty spelling out the consequences of victory. Claim your castle, claim new lands, or wreak your vengeance on usurpers by returning your guild to power and status.
If war is not your style, there's still a place for you in the interactive community of the Dream. Become a great storyteller or nightmare hunter and impress others with your skills. Earn Personality Points by contributing to the game's social environment and redeem the points for advancement in arts or use them to augment the power of your avatar.
Train to become a teacher. The advancement system is fueled by teachers who write dynamic quests for fellow players before deeming them worthy of advancement in the arts. The game's environment is significantly enhanced by this unique teaching system, which often gives rise to spontaneous roleplaying and interactive events.
There are also rewards for helping new players make their way in the game. Teachers are able to sense the presence of new dreamers, and all players can learn an art that enables them to locate new dreamers and tend to their needs. Houses reward their members for recruiting new initiates, and a new player can grant experience points by giving a Gratitude Token to someone who offers them great assistance.
There is much more to Reclamation than is outlined here, and to find out more, keep watch on our website and stay involved in the community!
