My name is Eric Breen and I am currently in the position of Public Relations and Marketing Lead for Reclamation. This means I do a lot of talking, and typing, about Reclamation and I'm responsible for keeping our name out there as well as staying in touch with our community of wonderful gamers. That also means I probably have the broadest knowledge of all things Reclamation save for a few people so that when someone asks me a question, whether a magazine, website, or community member, I know how to answer it. I can't imagine anything better than being able to work in the game industry.
I got started with Lyra Studios after having seen the July 99 issue of PCGamer where there was an article about Underlight in the Alternate Lives section. I was into Daggerfall at the time, and playing some pnp roleplaying games, so when I saw it I was curious. Later that year, in October of 99, I began playing the game which subsequently hooked me. The concept of a persistent world had so much potential, and no other that I have tried since has had that same lasting effect. This is mostly because many other games are simply the classic single player rpg packed into a persistent world. It was the interaction and ability to make lasting impressions that intrigued me, and only Lyra Studios was offering that.
Finally in December of 2003 I was given the opportunity to come aboard unofficially and begin prepping for Reclamation's announcement. Lots of hard work later, we announced the game on May 23, 2004 and I believe we really turned some heads. I think that will continue as we progress and release, and by then heads will be spinning.
Myself, I'm somewhere in my 20's, my hobbies include playing bass guitar, paintball, and lots of video games. The latest thing is having gaming parties where we play games on that green and black console with that one game that has a sequel coming out on November 9th. Of course Reclamation is better. I have two birds, 1 fish, 1 cat, 1 wife, 1 dog, 1 snake, and 1 bearded dragon. I drive a 2003 Dodge Neon SXT and my favorite food is rice. Star Wars > Star Trek, yellow is my favorite color, tigers are my favorite animal, and my computer (for now) is a 1.6 p4 with 512 MB of RAM and a geForce Ti4400, but I'd rather have an AMD.
That's all from me, see you on the other side.
